Pre Matric Scholarships (Government of India)

the National Christian Board (NCB) is facilitating Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships provided by the Government of India, the following terms and conditions should be outlined to ensure transparency and smooth processing:

1. Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a Christian student belonging to an economically weaker section (as per government norms).
  • Pre-Matric Scholarship: Applicable for students studying from Class 1 to Class 10.
  • Post-Matric Scholarship: Applicable for students studying in Class 11, Class 12, undergraduate, postgraduate, or diploma courses.
  • The student must be enrolled in a recognized school/college/university in India.
  • The family’s annual income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakhs (as per Government of India guidelines).
  • The applicant must have secured at least 50% marks in the previous academic year.

2. Application Process

  • Eligible students must submit an application form along with required documents within the specified deadline.
  • Applications must be submitted online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or as per the Government of India’s official procedure.
  • Incomplete or misleading applications will be rejected without prior notice.
  • Selection will be based on merit and financial need as per government regulations.

3. Required Documents

Students must provide the following documents:

📌 Aadhar Card (for identification)
📌 Income Certificate (issued by a competent authority)
📌 Caste Certificate (if applicable)
📌 Mark Sheets of Previous Academic Year
📌 Bonafide Certificate from the School/College
📌 Bank Account Details (Student’s account must be linked with Aadhar for direct benefit transfer)
📌 Fee Receipt from the Institution

4. Scholarship Disbursement

  • The scholarship amount will be directly credited to the student’s bank account by the Government of India.
  • The NCB will only act as a facilitator in guiding students through the application process.
  • The scholarship can be used only for tuition fees, books, study materials, and educational expenses.
  • If any fraudulent activity is detected (fake documents, misrepresentation), the scholarship will be canceled immediately, and legal action may be taken.

5. Student Responsibilities

  • The student must maintain a minimum attendance of 75% in their institution.
  • The student must not be involved in any criminal activities or disciplinary issues.
  • If a student fails or drops out, they must notify NCB immediately, as it may affect future scholarship eligibility.

6. Renewal Process

  • The scholarship must be renewed each academic year, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
  • Students must submit their previous year’s mark sheets and attendance records for renewal.

7. Declaration & Agreement

  • The student and parents/guardians must sign a declaration form agreeing to these terms.
  • NCB reserves the right to verify documents and cross-check eligibility before recommending applications.
  • The final selection and disbursement of the scholarship are under the jurisdiction of the Government of India, and NCB cannot guarantee approval.
